Rules/Content:

What is the source of your medical content and who maintains it?
Our medical content is culled from national quality measures, respected journals and publications such as JAMA and the NEJM, and from on-staff physicians. It is maintained by a group of our physicians.

Can users define their own measure and/or clinical decision support rules, either from “scratch” or based on a copy of an existing measure/rule?
Yes, users can create rules or measures directly, or they may duplicate and modify an existing rule/measure from our library of over 30,000 evidence-based rules.

What is the evidence methodology?
Medical evidence is categorized based on the Centre for Evidence Based Medicine by Oxford University.  Each module has periodic literature searches performed. DiagnosisOne physician editors review all content to assure technical accuracy and consistency. For selected condition DiagnosisOne utilizes an external clinician review process.

How often do you update your content?
Quality measures are updated every three months, and content is reviewed and updated every six months or more frequently as new information breaks in leading journals.

How many order sets do you have?
DiagnosisOne has more than 175 condition-specific comprehensive order sets. Unique to DiagnosisOne is our real-time patient specific order sets that alert the clinician to patient specific orderables at the point of care.

What code systems and clinical terminology does your application support?
CPT4, HCPC, S SNOMED-CT, ICD-9 CM, LOINC, CVX, RxNorm, NDC, FDB and others. The system can also handle local codes and mapping them to standard ones.

Does your system maintain old rule versions?
Yes, there is an historical archive of all prior rule versions, and they include an audit trail.

Does your system provide collaboration workflow to author rules and order sets?
Yes, our system offers an online collaboration tool that easily allows users to check-in or check-out a rule to modify it or to create a new one. Alerts are generated after an edit has been made, and all required approvers in the workflow are notified when they need to take an action. Upon all necessary approvals, the new rule is published.

Technology/Integration:

Where is data gathered for quality metric execution?
Our system can collect data from all integrated systems, including the EHR, PM, and Lab. We support HL7 v2.x messages as well as CDA, CCD and CCR to facilitate the integration.

Do you have a mechanism for capture of missing data (for example reason for exclusion, or missing data)?
We would use our portal to ask for the required data or our system would send a set of questions for your EHR to display to collect the required data from the user.

Can D1 accept data in non-CCD format?
Yes, we can accept data in multiple formats and in multiple coding systems and translate that information to be processed and analyzed.

How long does it take to integrate into the EMR application?
Our system was built on the most current and flexible platform, so integration can be simple and seamless. We offer dedicated in-house resources to ensure a smooth integration, project plan, and quality assurance testing, and are with you every step of the way. While integrations vary based on each case, they can be as quick as two weeks.

What technology is your application based on?
Our application is built using the latest .NET and J2EE technologies from Microsoft, Oracle and Red Hat.

What databases do you support?
Our application supports Oracle 11g and Microsoft SQL Server.

What version(s) of HL7 do you support?
Our object and data models are built on HL7 v3.0, which enables us to support all versions of HL7.

Is your application web-based?
Yes, our application is web-based and is designed following multi-tiered architecture and service-oriented architecture. It resides in the cloud so there’s less stress on your internal systems. However, if you prefer to host the applications locally, we can accommodate multiple hosting scenarios.

Can I manage user accounts to your application or do you have to do it for me?
Yes, you can manage the user accounts yourself.

Are rules calculated against measures in batch mode or real-time?
Our web service supports both batch and real time.
