A typical D1.Extend deployment in a country consists of a central server cluster connected to between 50 and 1000 remote servers at healthcare clinics providing basic services to local populations. D1.Extend allows these clinics to collect patient and testing data related to infectious diseases such as HIV AIDS and Hepatitis. D1.Extend deployments are designed to operate independently and then transfer patient, test and medication data to the central server when ever there is connectivity or use other manual means to transfer the data if no connectivity is available.
